Thoughtful Thursdays – People still buy from people they like
I am a firm believer that given a choice, people will choose to buy from people they like, even if it means paying a bit more.
There is value to the customer when their buying experiences are enjoyable. Perhaps this value is more evident when the experience does not meet expectations. Think about all the ways a transaction can go off the rails and make sure that you have done all you can to avoid it. Likeability can be measured in many ways.
People also buy online from companies they like. They do not necessarily need to interact with another person to have a positive buying experience. Factors that influence likeability include:
- Ease of site navigation
- High quality images
- Concise descriptions of products for sale
- Minimum number of clicks to make a purchase
- Clear return policies
If your customers were asked to rate their buying experience from you, would they smile and give the thumbs up sign?
Remember that good news travels fast and bad news even faster.
Good selling,
Richard
