Thoughtful Thursdays – Be mindful of the external factors that can affect sales
When you hear about external factors, you may think marketing but there are also consequences that result from the same external factors. A recent article in the Globe and Mail newspaper describes how home inspection sales are being affected by a hot housing market.
Today’s sales though is about being mindful of the external factors that may affect your sales.
Political factors that can affect sales:
- Changes in laws and regulations
- Political scenarios in your country
- Political scenarios in other countries
Economic factors that can affect sales:
- Economy down and up turns
- Changes in Interest rates
- Changes in discretionary spending
Social and cultural factors that can affect sales:
- Demographic shifts
- Changes in attitudes and opinions
- Changes in trends
Technology factors that can affect sales:
- The next big thing
- Technological advances
- Changes in technology
Being mindful of external factors that can affect sales will help you keep ahead of the threats and capitalize on the opportunities.
Keep your eyes open and ear to the ground and stay ahead of the changing sales environment.
Good selling,
Richard
