Thoughtful Thursdays – What is good sales behaviour?
During a recent selling skills workshop I asked the group, “What demonstrates good sales behaviour?”
Here is some of what they said.
- Building rapport
- Smiling
- A positive attitude
- Polite – ready to help
- Approachable
- Resourcefulness
- Honesty
- Good listening skills
- Empathy
- Sense of humour
- Knowledgeable
- Being well dressed
- Paying attention to the customer
We followed up with discission of examples of the behaviours on the list.
It was clear that the group knew how they liked to be treated.
The learning was to make a habit of treating people the same way they wanted to be treated.
People buy from people they like and it can begin with treating them the way you like to be treated.
Good selling,
Richard
