Thoughtful Thursdays – Sales planning for the rest of 2019

If you thought the first three months of 2019 went by quickly, don’t blink or you might miss your year end sales objectives. There is no better time than now to review your first quarter results. Before you know it we will be into summer holiday season and your customers and prospects may he harder to see.

Today’s Thoughtful Thursdays sales topic provides a few tips about planning for the remainder of the calendar year.

Back to your Q1 results. Are you ahead, behind, or on track? Great work if you are ahead or on plan. If you have fallen behind your objectives, identify the shortfalls and determine if the opportunities have moved out or gone away.

Calculate the first quarter gap, review your forecasts for the rest of the year and add up the numbers. Now look at what opportunities you are working on. You want to be working on targets that will match and potentially exceed that gap. Experience will tell you that some opportunities will move out and some will be postponed indefinitely.

Make your new plans and remind yourself to execute them to the new schedule. Call, follow up and make it happen!

Good selling,
Richard
