Thoughtful Thursdays – Ever been a buyer?
Of course you have! We buy things almost every day. Some item are purchased without much thought and other buying decisions are made only after a lengthy period of research.
Today’s Thoughtful Thursdays sales thought is about using your buying experiences to improve your sales skills.
Using personal buying experiences helps one understand the point of view of your prospect. It is not a stretch to think that your buying expectations are significantly different from your prospects.
Thinking about your expectations, what is most important to you when making a significant purchase?
- Quality
- Speed of delivery
- Technical support
- Confidence in the sales person
- Price
- Convenience of buying
- Design
- Return policies
If your prospect was to make a similar list of buying expectations, do you think that it would be much different?
Approaching your customers with the goal of satisfying the same expectations you have is a place to start.
Remember that on a level playing field, people will buy from people they like.
Good selling,
Richard
