Thoughtful Thursdays – Good to better
In last week’s Thoughtful Thursdays I said don’t settle for good, be better.
Today’s sales thought is about areas to get better and ways to get it done. In many cases it is not an instant fix, but a gradual change that over time will result in being a better sales professional.
Your customers may not see it happening, but intuitively will recognize a change for the better has been made and respond accordingly.
Here are some areas where improvement from current behaviour will make you better.
- Response time
- Shorten your response time and be consistent.
- Proactive support
- Don’t wait for your customer to call.
- Follow up
- This sounds like a no brainer, but it is easy to let follow up fall off the table. Schedule follow up and put it in your calendar.
- Consistency
- People generally do not like surprises. Be consistent and your customer will appreciate it.
- Attitude
- Be honest and positive. Remember that you are helping your customers.
When being better becomes a mind set rather than a task, you will differentiate yourself from many of your competitors.
Good selling,
Richard
