Thoughtful Thursdays – How to be different

Be different, stand out in a crowd, be better than the competition.

We hear it all the time in sales training and read about it in sales books. Professional sales people know the importance of being different when pursuing new opportunities and maintaining customers.

Sometimes it is difficult to be different from your competitor in a way that tips the scales in your favour.

Today’s sales thought is about being different. I believe that sometimes we try too hard to be different and the consequence can be losing sight of the customers’ needs.

You have probably read or heard that everyone is a bit different. If you believe that, then just by being yourself can be the key.

Add to that good sales practices including, meeting commitments, being a good listener and anticipating objections and soon you will not only be different, but the preferred supplier.

Remember that things being equal, people will buy from people they like.

Good selling,
Richard
