Thoughtful Thursdays – Making new connections
Today’s thought is about making new connections.
Meeting the people you need to know in order to identify new sales opportunities is not always as easy as one might think. Where do you go to meet these people?
The most beneficial way to make new connections is to be introduced to them by a mutual acquaintance.
First make a list of everyone you know and then make a second list of everyone you would like to know.
Examine the lists and look for people you know who might be able to help you meet people you want to know. Then make the call and ask.
Another approach is to connect with your local elected government representatives. In all likelihood they are accessible to their constituents and know a lot of people. It is in their best interest to help you if they can.
Networking is all about introducing yourself and being clear about how others can help you.
Hello, my name is… do you know anyone who?…
Good selling,
Richard
