Thoughtful Thursdays – Saying no is also a sale
Yikes, lost today’s original post! Here it is again in new words.
Have you ever said yes to a sale and thought better of your decision in hindsight? I expect the answer is yes, and that it happens more often than one would like to admit.
Today’s sales thought is about saying no and appreciating that it is also a sale with benefits.
Key to saying no to a sale is knowing when to say it and be happy with your decision.
Before accepting any order ask yourself:
- Will it be profitable?
- Does it help your company achieve its goals?
- Will it meet customer needs and expectations?
- Can it be delivered as expected?
- Will the sales experience be enjoyable?
Saying no can benefit the customer by not leading them down a path to dissatisfaction with your company.
Saying no can benefit your business by avoiding a money losing situation or getting distracted with non-productive activities.
Good selling,
Richard
