Thoughtful Thursdays – Eliminate the noise
Do you hear that?
It gets in the way of doing your job and consequently lengthens your sales cycle.
Still can’t hear it?
It causes you to do the same thing twice and three times over.
Listen closer.
It decreases the efficiency you worked so diligently to improve.
Noise is our constant companion. How it affects your performance depends on how you interpret it. The higher the priority it is given the greater the affect it will have on what you are trying to accomplish.
Noise does not need to be loud to be distracting. It does not even have to be audible. The challenge is to be mindful of the noise and be able to distinguish between important and unimportant noise.
Address important noise quickly and with purpose and tackle less important noise a later point in time that you have scheduled in your calendar.
Noise can be mitigated by:
- Sticking to your sales process
- Doing your sales homework
- Anticipating situations and preparing responses in advance
- Keeping your objectives in sight
- Trusting your resources
Good selling,
Richard
