Thoughtful Thursdays – Customer service

Todays thought is about customer service. As a sales professional customer service is and integral part of your job and is arguably the most important part.

I was having lunch with some friends the other day at a mid-priced restaurant. We decided to split the bill to be fair and one of the guys needed a $20 bill to be broken down to make change. He asked the server and the first response was that they did not have the right number of small bills to do it. After a few seconds they said the bar would have it and off they went.

It struck us as odd that the server would even consider saying that they could not break the $20 bill.

Great customer service means avoiding “no” and making things happen.

Good selling,
Richard
