Thoughtful Thursdays – Staying motivated to sell
Every sales professional experiences times when their motivation to sell dips below their normal level.
This is part of the job and can be as challenging to overcome as any sales objection you might face. In fact it is a sales objection of a sort, it is the source that it different. Instead of coming from a customer, the objection is coming from you.
Today’s thought is about things you can to overcome periods of low motivation.
- Surround yourself with successful people
- Review your longer term goals on a regular basis
- Set achievable objectives
- Be mindful of, but do not dwell on the negative
- Recall the feeling you have when you out sell your competition
- Be realistic
- Focus on what on what you can control
- Remember why you chose sales as a career in the first place
- Celebrate your successes
Maintaining motivation is an ongoing challenge for everyone. There will be days when you are not at the top of your game. Accept it and move on.
Good selling,
Richard
