Thoughtful Thursdays – Shorten your sales cycle to increase sales

Successful sales people seem to make it happen effortlessly. However we all know that is not necessarily the case. Making sales is not always a simple or easy job.

The thought for today is about shortening your sales cycle. Just think how much more you might accomplish if you were able to shave just 5% of the time in your typical sales cycle.

A key benefit of a shorter sales cycle is the opportunity to increase sales faster.

Here are a five tips to consider when working on shortening your sales cycle.

  1. Understand your current sales process – the process determines the cycle
  2. Work on steps that are in your control
  3. Avoid short cutting your process – shorter is not necessarily faster
  4. Engage colleagues and stakeholders to help you improve the process
  5. Be creative – the way it has always been done may be open to improvement

Good selling,
Richard
