Thoughtful Thursdays – A gold star for customer service
We appreciate people who go the distance, right?
Today’s thought is about an example of a sales person who went the distance to help and deservedly receives a gold star for customer service.
On my way home one day last week one of my errands was to pick up an item from a pet shop. There are several stores on route and I decided to stop into one of the smaller owner operated franchises.
The product I was looking for was out of stock and the sales person offered to call me when new stock arrived. I told her that I really needed to get the product that day. She then asked me which way I was headed and offered to call another store of the same franchise that was on the way. Unfortunately they were also out of stock as well.
I thanked her for making the effort and was about to leave when she said that there was a large pet store, a competitor, nearby and that they would likely have what I was looking for. It had slipped my mind that the competitive store was that close. I thanked her again for the time she had taken to help and I was off.
I award her a customer gold star for going the distance.
She did her best to meet my needs within her own franchise and then referred me to the competition.
Will I go back? You bet I will.
People buy from people they like, right?
Good selling,
Richard
