Thoughtful Thursdays – More about why people buy from people they like
During every group sales training session I deliver I ask participants to recall a purchase they have made where there was an opportunity to buy from more than one sales person. All things being equal, people buy from people they like. So what characteristics did the sales person they chose to deal with make them more likeable?
Characteristics that successful sales professionals demonstrate every day are the habits identified consistently by every group I ask.
Here is a list of some of the most common characteristics of successful sales people:
- Happy disposition
- Listens and hears what is said
- Honours commitments
- Dresses neatly
- Honest
- Knowledgeable
- Positive
- Confident
- Connect and relates to you
- Engaging
- Easy to understand
- Speaks with you, not to you
Good selling,
Richard
