Thoughtful Thursdays – Be relentless

Today’s though was inspired by a business owner who was speaking to a group of graduating entrepreneurs. it is a story about having a focused goal and being relentless in the pursuit of that goal.

His talk with the reasons he started his business in the first place. It was not unlike many but his engaging story resonated with the entire audience. He was out of work and had spent one year unsuccessfully pursuing job opportunities. One thousand resumes sent and personally delivered netted only two interviews. In and of itself, that would cause many to throw in the towel. It was emotionally draining and an incredibly stressful time.

His unwavering belief in himself led him to the idea of starting his own business. One year later the business continues to grow and he will soon be in a position to take on employees. The business is destined to grow as a result of the prudent decisions he has made and the perseverance he has demonstrated to make it work.

Many would have thought that it was not possible to do, especially given the limited financial resources available. His demonstrated behaviour is translatable to anything you do in life, including sales.

Be unwavering and relentless and never lose sight of your goal.

Good selling,
Richard
