Thoughtful Thursdays – Only 5 percent?

It doesn’t sound like much, but let’s think about 5% from a different point of view.

What if you had the opportunity to increase your number of selling days by ten? That represents 2 incremental weeks if you are out selling approximately two hundred days of the year. How would ten extra days translate into additional sales revenues?

Impossible you say? I maintain that it is possible, not necessarily easy, but achievable. If you were to increase your personal operational efficiency by two and a half percent, you would be halfway there. I am not talking about working longer days, but accomplishing more in that given day. The net effect is buying time back. Time that you can use to your sales advantage.

Think about the additional calls you will be able to make with ten extra days. Those sales targets are looking more and more acheivable with every additional sales call.

The question is how, and it is a good one.

For everything you do ask yourself if it can be done as well and completed in a shorter period of time. Identify the bottlenecks and be mindful of them. How much time are you spending getting to where you want to go. is there a better way?

It may require you to create new or different routines that feel uncomfortble, that is normal when change is involved. It may not happen overnight, but with a solid commitment to regaining 5% of our time, you will be rewarded.
