SAKANASHI AND ASSOCIATES was founded in 2003 by Richard Sakanashi. His relevant sales and marketing experience spans more than thirty years with firms including the General Electric Company and Itochu Specialty Chemicals.

Richard Sakanashi 2009 YMCA Celebrated Volunteer
At the end of their eight-week program, each participant in the Ontario Works Self-Employment Program presents a one-year business plan to a volunteer panel of business people for review and further guidance. Richard Sakanashi has been a panel member since 2004, and is currently its chair as well. It brings him to 42 Charles Street three or four times a year, a commitment that he loves: “I get to use some of my experience to help people move ahead.”
He has the right kind of experience — three decades of sales and marketing and, since 2003, his own consulting company. Nominator Padmini Saravanabavan calls him “the backbone” of the program, and praises the care he takes with each participant. Says Richard, “I’m so impressed with the perseverance and courage of the participants. If there’s anyone I can help or support, I am happy to do it.” |
