There is no question about the impact\u00a0social media\u00a0has had on business. An impact so significant that many believe it will be their ticket to success. It may be, but the reality is that\u00a0success is\u00a0unlikely if social media is only marketing activity.<\/p>\n
The operative word in social media is “social”. You want to have people talking about your business\u00a0rather than you talking\u00a0 about it. People will talk about your business if they have a good experience and shout about your business if the experience is not satisfactory. Word of mouth will take care of itself, you must also be committed to making yourself and your business known.<\/p>\n
The probability of success will\u00a0increase as the reliance on others decreases. In other words, make yourself famous.<\/p>\n
Consider social media as\u00a0one\u00a0marketing tool in your basket of resources, not the basket of marketing resources. The further you get from real time personal communication, the less effective that communication will be.<\/p>\n
If you want to\u00a0 be successful, get out and talk to your prospects in real time and in person.<\/p>\n
