During a recent conversation with a client, the subject of how to approach prospects came up and hence this post,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ability to connect with people is a skill acquired over a period time that continues to develop over a lifetime. The seasoned sales professional is able make that connection very quickly, facilitating the buying process, resulting in shorter sales cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having a clear understanding of your own habits and tendancies, in other words your personality, is key to developing interpersonal skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learning the behaviours of other personality types will help you design your approach so that it resonates with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Have multiple scenarios in your sales approach tool kit so that you are able to adjust will help accelerate the relationship building process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As with any skills development process, mistakes will be made. Learn from them and improve.
