I have been going there long enough to be recognized by some of the staff and being a creature of habit, they know my order. Black coffee in a china mug and a cinnamon raisin&nbsp;bagel, toasted and dry. I find this amazing as I am not a daily visitor and not served by the same person each time I am there. I guess that I got know as the guy who asked for margarine instead of butter.<\/p>\n<p>My preference&nbsp;is not&nbsp;the dry toasted bagel, but with margarine. About a year ago the coffee shop (it is a chain)&nbsp;stopped offering margarine and&nbsp;&nbsp;as I do not like butter, started to&nbsp;order the bagel dry.<\/p>\n<p>This week as I made my way to the counter the person on the cash was smiling as usual and took my order. She went to the serving counter and came back with a couple of single&nbsp;portion packages of margarine. After at least a year she remembered that I preferred margarine and went out of her way to make sure that I knew that they were again offering the choice.<\/p>\n<p>This&nbsp;was great customer service above and beyond my expectations.<\/p>\n<p>It is this kind of service that people appreciate and contributes to an experience that is memorable for all the right reasons. Remember that people buy from people they like.<\/p>\n<p>Pay attention to your customers wants and needs and when the opportunity presents itself, deliver.
