Thoughtful Thursdays – Be in control of your time

In the pursuit of new business it is easy to over commit your time. This can lead to consequences such as feeling rushed or disappointing other customers. Not to mention increased stress.

Being in control of your time is an important factor to consider when trying to avoid getting into that position.

When discussing timelines with your prospect, fit activities into your calendar first and see what their response is. In most cases, you will be able to work to your schedule. If they want to shorten the timeline, it is an indication of an urgency that may be a reason to re-examine your prices.

Avoid rushing into anything without first looking at your schedule.

There will be times when it makes sense to work harder to meet rush deadlines, make sure you are compensated accordingly.

You are not at your customer’s beck and call unless they are paying you for that service.

Good selling,
Richard
