Thoughtful Thursdays – Don’t ignore the obvious

Last week’s Thoughtful Thursdays topic was about looking past the obvious. Today’s sales topic is about not ignoring the obvious.

Looking past the obvious might identify new opportunities, focusing on it may cause you to miss what is right under your nose. Using a combination of sales strategies is a way to increase success.

Keep your eyes and ears open and absorb the information that comes your way. Analyze the situation and determine the best way to pursue the opportunity. Resist the temptation to rush the process. As the duck test says: “If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.” While looking past the obvious is important, do not discount the simplest logical explanation.

Searching for what does not appear to be there may be source of “noise” thast keeps you from closing the sale.

Good selling,
Richard
